As we discussed a few weeks ago, ready or not you should be planning how your lab will deal with the internet of things (IoT). To delay incorporating IoT into your lab may already prove to be problematic as now manufacturers incorporate the IoT into their instruments. It is much wiser to embrace it, but in a controlled process to ensure security.

The ultimate goal of temperature monitoring is to ensure the preservation of safe and effective medications. Given the high cost of many temperature-dependent medications, investing in an effective temperature monitoring system has the potential to deliver significant financial benefits by identifying temperature excursions at the outset, and thus averting product loss.

Whether you’re in charge of an operating room, clinical lab, or forensics, manual temperature logging is time consuming and very prone to error. A wireless temperature monitoring system does the job without all the man hours and with no chance of human error. If you need to comply with a set of rules that governs your facility a wireless temperature monitoring system is your best bet for success.

We’ve all seen scientists on television wearing full body pressurized lab suits, covered in other safety equipment, or maybe working with something hazardous from a glass case with thick rubber gloves. If you have, then you’ve seen firsthand how scientists keep potentially dangerous things that they are working with (Such as microbes, bacteria, and viruses) inside the lab. The practice of safety is now more important than ever outside of the lab. While you may not have the same equipment, there are things you can do to stay safe.
